Well, as of Monday our second option period for the second contract on our house was up. We have worked out a list of repairs that have been agreed on and have a closing date of November16th. I am still just praying that between now and November 16th nothing goes wrong. We have a contract on another house. Some minor packing has started. The major packing will begin shortly, after Claire's birthday party on Saturday.
The way things have worked out with closing dates, we only have 4 hours to move out of the old house and into the new one. Well, we are good, but not that good. So we will be renting a storage unit and will be staying with family for a night or two.
I am ready for the "fun" to start. Don't get me wrong, I am excited, but there is just A LOT of things up in the air right now. A lot of trying to juggle things and get them planned out. Now, I love to plan, but it is a bit much right now. I have made a packing calendar focusing on 1 thing to pack each day starting Sunday, October 26th-November 15th. I have researched self storage places. I have planned what items will need to stay with us and not be stored, what we will eat the few nights we are in transistion and even what I will need to pack for those days. The most fun so far has been planning a "We've Moved" card to send out.
Right now we are kind of in a holding pattern. We haven't had the inspection done yet, I can't really pack anything else yet. We haven't decided what to do with some of our furniture. We are debating on keeping our current kitchen hutch and Brent's gun cabinet. Plus so much of moving is out of my control. Even if I wasn't pregnant, moving is guy stuff. And I trust Brent to take care of everything, I just want him to plan it out according to my terms type it out and print me a list. Even typing that sounds ridiculous! I just want to know what is going to happen when and how. I want a list I can check off things as they happen. Hey, don't judge, we all have our quirks!
But first things first, Claire's birthday and party.
