Claire has been a part of this whole selling house, buying a new one adventure, but when it comes to actually moving, I wasn't sure she understood. So early last week we started reading C books about moving. Her favorite, The Berenstain Bear's Moving Day, by Stan Berenstain.
She likes books and I think she is ready for what is coming. She sees all the boxes and is told again and again, "Well if we want to take it to the new house, we have to pack it up!" Last Friday, we had a project to make together. Claire loves "projects" and this one was designed to help her countdown to moving day. Below she is tearing off, with Daddy's help, the 10 to reveal 9 days until we move.
As of today, we are 7 days away from moving (5 days from the actual closing). This afternoon we will start packing up her room. We'll see how she does and how much she really understands about packing and moving. Plus we will find out how she does with most of her toys in boxes for a week.
