Good Diabetic/Bad Diabetic

Me the Good Diabetic!
*My H1C is down to 6.0!
*I get my eyes checked yearly
*I try to respect other people’s grossness level and test my sugar in private when I can
*I can read my body and know when I am high or low
*I have learned how to correctly fix highs and lows
*I have become a pretty good carb counting and can convert carbs to insulin needed without a calculator
*I am not on an insulin pump. I say this is good because I am not seen as medically needing it, I was given a choice. See previous posts for my personal reasons. (see Bad list)

Me the Bad Diabetic!
*I have been a roller coaster diabetic
*I often do injections through my clothes
*I am very inconsistent about working out
*I don’t change my insulin needles regularly, in fact I usually only get a new one when I open a new pen, about once a week.
*I am not on a pump. Some would say this makes me a bad diabetic because in theory I experience more ups and downs instead of a more consistent average (see Good list)
*I don’t change my lancet, but maybe 6 times a year. I change it whenever I notice it really starting to hurt.
*I spend a lot of time without shoes on or in flip flops. It is a 104 here, what do you expect.

*I don’t keep a log book. It is a pain and intrusive and even though I should I don’t. Maybe if I had an iPhone I would have more motivation. (hehehe)
